St Chad's was built at the same time as most of the estate. The hall was the original church and was used for many different purposes.
We believe Christ is for everyone and we aim to follow his example; to be a place of spiritual refreshment where the presence of God is always felt and the good news of the risen Christ is told.
We aim to be welcoming, because Jesus welcomed all who came to him; we believe that everyone has the right to hear the good news of Jesus. We aim to love because Jesus commanded his followers to love one another; he also told us to grow disciples – so here at St Chad’s we are in the business of growing in faith and learning from the Word of God.
St Chad’s is made up of different people, so we offer different services. Please see the Services page.
What happens on Sunday is only a small part of Christ’s Church. Getting to know new people can be difficult, especially if there are a lot of people around. There are other opportunities to get to know people beside tea and coffee after the services, such as the Rainbow Café, when we also run the Food Bank, the Youth Drop in, the Mothers Union, various coffee morning, lunches and craft afternoons, most of which you will find mentioned in the events page.
If you are new to St. Chad's Church or the area, please do get in touch with us, we would be more than happy to meet with you!
